We would like to thank all of you that participated in our annual fundraising event “Hollywood’s Biggest Night” at TRIO Restaurant on Sunday. We were so pleased at the tremendous turnout for this fun and festive event – and we are delighted to let you know we raised a significant amount of funds from the evening. This will enable AAP – Food Samaritans to continue with our ongoing mission of helping those who need it the most. Many thanks to TRIO’s Tony Marchese and Mark VanLaanen for once again hosting this special event. Photos from the evening will be featured in the April newsletter and sooner on our Facebook page.
AAP – Food Samaritans could not fulfill our mission without the dedication and support of the incredible people and organizations that support us. Without their caring and inspirational guidance, we would not be able to support the nutritional needs of those low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses in our community. We are so very grateful for their unyielding kindness that they exhibit on a daily basis not only for AAP, but for many other organizations across the entire Coachella Valley.
Our next fundraising event is March 10 with the amazingly talented and fascinating Stanley Paul as he presents “Red Hot & Rich.” This Cole Porter tribute will delight you with dozens of famous Porter songs, complimented by revealing anecdotes about Porter’s life. We are thrilled to be able to offer this incredible West Coast Premiere performance to Coachella Valley residents and we are deeply honored that Mr. Paul, now a resident of Palm Springs, is doing this show as a benefit for AAP – Food Samaritans. Later on in this edition of our newsletter, we highlight the 2017 Evening Under the StarsHonorees. These stellar individuals and organizations continue to impact our community in so many ways, and we are privileged to call them supporters and friends. Please read about these amazing honorees below. You may have heard that AAP – Food Samaritans has expanded our services by adding new clients who have been on our waiting list. Expanding our client list means that we must increase our funding to ensure that each client continues to receive their month food vouchers. One way you can help out is to join our Jeannette Rockefeller Angel Program. Remember that your donations directly support the members of our community that need help the most.
