From the Executive Director

October 2022

I have a sense of optimism that I am hoping you feel, too. Looking at the coming season with an appreciation for some things that I may have taken for granted, I have witnessed the resilience of our clients in a way that inspires me more than ever.

Our clients have endured the last few years of uncertainty with the small comfort that while many things may have changed, AAP - Food Samaritans and our nutritional support program is something that can be counted on.

We're seeing businesses hiring, construction projects underway, and a bit of 'normal' coming back in a big way. That's the 'taking for granted' part that I'm referring to. When our supporters ask how AAP is coping and how they can help, it's with a new sense of gratitude and optimism that I ask for contributions from those who can comfortably afford to help.

With that in mind, I'd like you to please save the date for our annual Angel Kickoff event. It will be held on Thursday, November 10 at the home of one of our ardent supporters, Marc Walters. His estate is a stunning architectural masterpiece, and we'll celebrate our Angels as we usually do with food and drink along with entertainment that is sure to please. This year, the event cost will be underwritten by our host, ensuring that your donations go directly to the Program.

An invitation will be mailed soon, and as always, we will require an RSVP before we can reveal the address. We hope to see you there!

And one more thing... I'd like to give a big 'shout out' to the folks at BevMo Palm Springs, who have been giving us dry goods donations for the past month, every single week. It's such an unexpected treat for our clients.

Thank you for your continued kindness,

Sincerely,
Mark Anton
C.E.O./Executive Director
