Happy New Year!
At AAP – Food Samaritans, we like to start the new year by looking back on all the support we received last year and thinking you all for continuing to help us accomplish our important mission. It is your ongoing support that enables us to continue offering vital nutritional support to those that need it the most.
As we prepare to ring in 2018 and make our resolutions for the year ahead, I hope you’ll consider a making continued commitment to AAP. There is still time to send a tax-deductible donation by year-end, and we have several opportunities to make it easy for you. Perhaps your Angel Program membership has expired, or you may want to purchase tickets to one of our fabulous upcoming events. We are so thankful for your loyalty to our organization, and knowing that your contributions are crucial to the success of our mission should make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. That’s how I feel when I think about your generous gifts to our Valley’s most needful residents.
We were recently notified about the approval of an upcoming grant by BIGHORN Golf Club Charities. This amazing organization lends a hand to non-profits that have project-specific needs to improve the quality of life of the people they serve in the Coachella Valley. We appreciate their support!
In a few short weeks the 27th Annual Palm Springs Winter Classic Softball Tournament, which benefits AAP, will take place February 9-11, 2018. Presented in cooperation with the City of Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Gay Softball League, participating teams are members of the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting amateur athletics for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. All games are free to the public, and the tournament schedule will be posted at pswinterclassic.com later this month.
Don’t forget that acclaimed performer Gladys Knight will be our featured performer at the 25th Anniversary 'Evening Under the Stars' gala on May 5. Tables and individual tickets are on sale already – and remember that the earlier you purchase your tickets, the better your placement at the event will be. Don’t delay – show your support today.
