From the Executive Director

June 2021

Thank you for sticking by us through the past 16+ months and helping to keep our nutritional support program funded. I know that for many it has been a very trying time, and that you've continued to help us is a testament to the resilience of our community.

It was with a great sigh of relief that I read the update from the Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau in which they shared the news that the State of California Department of Public Health is issuing new COVID-19 guidance. As Californians get vaccinated, the state is reopening and moving beyond the purple, red, orange and yellow tiers that helped us manage COVID-19. We are on track to end the tier system on June 15. While very limited measures will remain, Californians will see life getting back to normal. (see more info here.)

What this means for AAP – Food Samaritans is that we can confidently proceed with our outdoor Independence Day event with no restrictions. If you have the means, I ask that you either purchase a ticket and join us or make a contribution here.

Another bit of good news is that our long-time supporter Barry Manilow has announced new dates for his "A Gift of Love" holiday concerts, which were originally scheduled for December of last year. Please click here to purchase your tickets
AAP - Food Samaritans remains dedicated to helping those in our community that need it the most, and I thank you again for your support.

Sincerely,
Mark Anton
C.E.O./Executive Director
